It does not depend on length of service or the number of hours worked per week. WebThe minimum entitlement is 26 weeks’ maternity leave, and you may also choose to take a further 16 weeks of additional unpaid maternity leave, which must begin immediately after the end of your basic maternity leave. This additional leave will not be covered by Maternity Benefit, and your employer is not obliged to pay you during this period.
