Webb7 nov. 2015 · Hi there, I've managed to play The Sims 3 on Vista, 7, 8 and 8.1 pretty successfully. However I upgraded to Windows 10 a few days ago and cannot play more than 20 minutes of gameplay before the game crashes to the desktop with the vague "Windows is checking to find a solution" box that immediately closes the game. WebbI'm hoping this thread will help others too as finding ways to play this game on Windows 10 has been a headache. I downloaded the sims 2 ultimate collection from origin - this is no longer available as EA has discontinued distributing it even if you contact customer service.

I needed to use dxvk to fix this issue. I have no idea if links are allowed but it's the first result when you search for it.
